5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (NIV)
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; (NKJV)
The Lord gave us clarity on the armour:
- The belt of Truth
The belt of Truth is Jesus. He holds everything together.
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. (NKJV)
- Breastplate of righteousness.
Being in right standing with Him so that no condemnation can enter into your heart and defile it. So that your heart remains full of grace, and your fellows undefiled.
17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord. (NKJV)
15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
- Helmet of salvation
It saves us from the thoughts of the enemy. It contains the mind of Christ, and guards your mind constantly serving as a barrier of protection against infiltration by the enemy, thus promoting the thoughts of the Lord. Because you have the mind of Christ, you think Chirst-like thoughts as well.The helm is the navigational steering instrument. The ships wheel. Taking the helm.
Jesus is our helm, as our head is the steering instrument. In order for the anointing to flow our mind needs to be slain (submitted under the guidance of the HS).
16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?”[a] But we have the mind of Christ.
15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. (NIV)
- Shoes of peace
Shoes of peace guarantee we fight in a state of rest. The shoes of peace establish you and ground you in peace. Being in peace brings stability and not instability. It enables your footing to be secure. Remember how important your footing is in battle. Your footing is one of the most important factors in your battle with the enemy. It’s one of the key factors that determine whether a battle is won or lost. The Endtime army will be established in such peace, He said to us. They will function in My Heavenly peace, not in their earthly peace.
20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. (NIV)
