Andrew’s musings on Life in the Spirit, Episode 4: All Scripture points to Jesus, the Word (John 1:1)

This podcast is a Tribute to the Bible and its contents. All Scripture should point to Jesus, either in a pre-resurrection sense or post-resurrection sense.

This podcast attempts to explain the Cross and the message of His resurrection, and death being defeated. If we are walking towards the Cross, the message is about His death, and orphanship. When we’re walking away from the Cross we recognize ourselves as Sons and the Beloved.

Jesus is the Law (also known as the Word of God), therefore if the “LAW” that we practice and talk does not point to Jesus, the people become like the dry bones mentioned in Ezekiel 37. All the Scriptues point to Him, because He is the fulfilment of the Law.

All Scripture proceeds from the mouth of the Word, who is Jesus, who is God. Which is why all Scripture should point back to Him. If we don’t quote Scripture that glorifies God and His Son, Jesus, there is something wrong. When God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit speaks about Jesus, Jesus always refers it back to them. From that He has told us when we glorify Jesus using Scripture, which is His Word, it never returns void to Him. There is always fruit from it, which other people benefit from. [Revelation 19:10, Isaiah 55:11, Colossians 2:17]

Everything points to Jesus Christ

The Lord told us to go to Revelation 21:22-23

Revelation 21:22-23 New International Version (NIV)

22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

This is a wonderful confirmation to us that the podcast’s content Episode 3 & Episode 4 are very timely. Verse 22 refers to Episode 3. Verse 23 refers to Episode 4. Verse 22 confirms the ‘Tabernacling’ of Jesus in us, and that the physical temple is not relevant to us now. Verse 23 confirms Jesus is the Lamp which is the commandment and law which is the Light found in Proverbs 6:23 which He gave us this morning! Jesus is all of them.

Proverbs 6:20-23

New International Version (NIV)

20 My son, keep your father’s command
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
21 Bind them always on your heart;
fasten them around your neck.
22 When you walk, they will guide you;
when you sleep, they will watch over you;

when you awake, they will speak to you.
23 For this command is a lamp,
this teaching is a light,
and correction and instruction
are the way to life,

Proverbs 6:20-23 talks about the Father’s commandment, the law of Mother, and binding these reproofs of instruction on the heart. But the commandment is the Lamp, the Law is Light, and the reproofs of instruction is the way of life. .The extraordinary thing is that there are no cross-references between these two verses Proverbs 6:23 and Rev 21:22-23 in the Bible, However the Lord has just shown us how entwined they are. One is found in the Old Testament and the other has yet to occur, and is found in the New Testament.
