Declaring Jesus’ Name

Declaring Jesus’ Name

We must not be fearful of declaring our faith or His Name. It’s easy to do it in Church, the challenge comes when we’re outside Church.

This challenge appears to have been there for 2000 years. Peter was challenged and failed, and John 12:42-43 shows very clearly there were many leaders and noblemen who believed in Jesus, and probably secretly followed Him, but were too scared to declare or confess Him for fear of being expelled from their synagogue. It is ironic today that most people find the Church is the only place where He can be confessed.

So much or most of this comes from fear of man.

John 5:41 (Amplified version)

41 I receive not glory from men [I crave no human honor, I look for no mortal fame],

John 12:42-43 (New King James Version)

42 Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
