Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
We were led by the Lord today to search the meaning of
Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the Lord.
These were the guys who came back with Joshua and Caleb and concocted a report that effectively scared everybody into reaction and not going into the Promised Land.
The Pharisees and Sadducees were present when God the Father opened the Heavens and spoke over His Son.
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Yet they spoke evil reports of Him afterwards because they feared and were not in rest. They were jealous and hated Him.
God like Israel (Jacob) had given His Son (represented by Joseph), his coat of many colours whom he loved more than his other sons. The sons of Jacob became jealous and ill at rest and gave evil reports of him.
So evil reporting brings judgement. Magnifying the giants over God brings repercussions.
We only have one thing to fear and that is to fear or be worried when we are not relaxed.
He want us always to enter into His Rest, and look to Him. When we turn away from looking at Him, Giants overtake us.
When the apostles were fearful as Jesus slept, they did not enter into His rest.
These passages all lead to faith and belief as only in Rest can one truly believe.
The promised Land was God’s promise to His people.
Jesus embodies and personifies the Promised Land and has promised eternal life and people continue to reject this because they reject Him from fear or unbelief.
When we come out of rest who is the Prince of Peace (Shalom), we risk coming into unbelief. Read Hebrews 4 verses 1-4
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
The fullness of God was the Promised Land in the Old Testament. Jesus is the full embodiment of this.
So when we ingest His Body,we ingest the Promised Land and it becomes a part of us.
Remember the Giants were supposed to be bread and not feared.
Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not.
We can only eat the Giants if we eat the Bread of Life.
Take communion and conquer.
And Jesus said unto them, I am the Bread of life: he that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst.
