As someone said
‘Flattery is all very well as long as you don’t inhale! ‘
Praise from fellow friends should always be deflected and received with humility.
The moment we start to dwell on and bask in this praise, we are not dwelling on the right person.
There is only One in Three Persons we should be praising and glorifying.
Even hyperboles are insignificant in the atmosphere of the Trinity.
As we pursue Godlikeness we lean towards what He receives. If we walk in His ways and perform, there is a danger of expecting the same praise He receives. We must never forget that we like Judah are the humble praise vessel that points towards Him; that every great thing we do reflects back on Him and does not get absorbed.
